NSW: More fireworks seized at Wallacia

SYDNEY, Feb 2 AAP - Five tonnes of illegal fireworks have been seized by police and
WorkCover at a rural property on Sydney's western outskirts.

The explosives were found in a shipping container at the Wallacia property yesterday,
WorkCover said.

It is the third seizure of illegal fireworks at Wallacia in the past month, after 25
tonnes of explosives were found in shipping containers at a rural address there in January.

A second raid at nearby premises netted more fireworks.

WorkCover spokesman Ian Eather said the fireworks found yesterday were believed to
be linked to those seized last month.

Mr Eather could not confirm whether anyone had been charged over the seizures, but
said investigations were continuing.

The fireworks would be removed from the site for destruction at a secure explosives
facility, WorkCover said.
