Vic: Barbaro accused of conspiracy to murder

Accused drug king pin PASQUALE BARBARO is expected to be charged in Melbourne over
two murder plots.

Taskforce Purana detectives have been granted permission in the Melbourne Magistrates
Court to question 47-year-old BARBARO of Griffith in New South Wales.

He's expected to be charged this afternoon.

Detective Acting Sergeant DANIEL BAULCH told the court BARBARO had been conspiring
with others to murder FEDELE D'AMICO .. who he held responsible for failed drug importations.

And police allege BARBARO and others conspired to murder a second man .. whose identify
hasn't been established.

BARBARO already faces drug charges .. including the laundering of 7.4 million dollars
from drug sales .. and importing 150 kilograms of cocaine.

He was allegedly involved in a global operation that shipped 4.5 tonnes of ecstasy
into Melbourne in tomato tins.
