NSW: Aust muslims question authenticity of bin Laden tape

Australian muslims have cast doubt over the validity of a tape featuring OSAMA BIN
LADEN boasting about the September 11 attacks.

The New South Wales Supreme Islamic Council says it is having difficulty accepting
the tape as genuine.

Released by the US two days ago, the tape shows BIN LADEN gloating over the death and
destruction wrought on September 11 after two hijacked aeroplanes ploughed into the World
Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon.

But council spokesman MOHSEN LABBAN told the Nine Network while the interpretation
of BIN LADEN's words is correct, the tape could have been doctored.

Dr LABBAN says BIN LADEN's words could have been rigged and he finds it difficult to
believe BIN LADEN could orchestrate such an act of terrorism.
