UALBANY DENIES COURSES AT RISK.(CAPITAL REGION)

University at Albany officials moved to reassure students and faculty on Friday that academic programs which had been on a list of those under review for possible cuts are in no imminent danger.

``The list is no longer operative,'' UAlbany Interim President Karen Hitchcock said of the document naming eight undergraduate degree programs that the State University of New York central administration last fall sent to UAlbany to review for ``possible elimination.''

Hitchcock said campus officials decided not to cut those programs.
