Qld: Counting about to start in Qld
Counting is about to start in Queensland's state election after what's been described
as a relatively incident free polling day.
Heavy rain and flooding closed two polling booths in Queensland's far north but fine
weather helped boost the turnout with more than two million people casting their vote.
Labor is favoured to win the election but Premier PETER BEATTIE says he's still worried
the the result will be too close to call.
The Queensland outcome and the impact of PAULINE HANSON'S One Nation will have major
implications for the federal election later this year.
First figures tonight should be posted within an hour of polls closing at 6pm (AEST).
